Loggins & Messina - "Danny's Song"

A friend of mine insists that 7-Eleven is selling drinks in soda cups imprinted with famous bands.  She showed me a photo from Facebook of one of the cups that featured Loggins & Messina.  I can't imagine a Slurpee tasting any better than it already does...until now.

Alannah Myles - "Black Velvet"

It's not easy to word the word molasses into song lyrics, but Alannah Myles found a way to seamlessly work it into her 1989 hit "Black Velvet".  The song is an ode to Elvis Presley which reminds me how back in the '80s you would always hears of Elvis sightings at the most random of places: a Burger King in Tallahassee, a 7-Eleven in Shelbyville, Indiana, a tanning salon in Norfolk, Virginia...
