Fleetwood Mac "Hold Me"

A doctor from Massachusetts complained that the on-hold music CVS used haunted him "day and night" so he penned a letter asking for them to change it. Guess what happened? CVS agreed. Good news for CVS shoppers -- their stores will continue to play the soft rock tunes this blog commemorates. Phew!

Climie Fisher - "Love Changes Everything"

Sometimes a fresh coat of paint is all a song needs to achieve success.  Case in point: the British duo by the lovely name Climie Fisher released the pop song "Love Changes Everything" in 1987.  While the song achieved mild success, a year later it was remixed and re-released helping it garner much more fanfare and radio airplay.  This is the reason you now hear the tune while attempting to figure out where the checkout line at CVS begins.

The Pointer Sisters - "He's So Shy"

Again we take a stroll down the dental care aisle at our neighborhood CVS when we're greeted by music over the loudspeaker playing the travesty known as "He's So Shy" by The Pointer Sisters.  Act Mouthwash is how much?!?  No matter your feelings on the song, "He's So Shy" is so easy to get stuck in your head that you'll leave CVS without buying what you actually went there to buy.
