Richard Marx "Angelia"

Richard Marx really liked the sound of Def Leppard's Pyromania and Hysteria albums and he sought to emulate the sound in his ballad "Angelia". In turn, Marx described the time that he later bumped into the guitarist from Def Leppard and learned the band tried to emulate "Angelia" in their hit "Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad".

Def Leppard - "Two Steps Behind"

Toward the twilight of Def Leppard's glory years came their power ballad "Two Steps Behind".  Included in the Last Action Hero Soundtrack, the song came in two different flavors: a pop radio-friendly acoustic version as well as a rock version.  It was the group's last Hot 100 hit.
