Phil Collins, Elton John, and Gloria Estefan dominated Adult Contemporary radio back in the 1980s and '90s, yet have disappeared from modern radio. Seemingly, the only time you ever hear them is at the grocery store or your local CVS. This blog remembers the music, the stories and the quirky characters from my days working in Adult Contemporary radio.

Ashlee Simpson "Pieces of Me"
- Younger sister of Jessica Simpson
- Had her own MTV series which was a spin-off from Nick and Jessica
- Married and later divorced Pete Wentz from Fall Out Boy
- Danced a hoedown on Saturday Night Live when prerecorded vocals from "Pieces of You" played while she attempted to sing a different song -- the band transitioned back to "Pieces of You" when she exited the stage and SNL went to a commercial break

98 Degrees - "Invisible Man"
You can very easily sum up 90's boy band pop with one listen to 98 Degrees "Invisible Man". Despite being a Top 40 hit, the song only spent four short weeks on the Adult Contemporary Chart.

98 Degrees - "The Hardest Thing"
I used to buy all those "Now That's What I Call Music" CDs. The first Now CD I purchased came after calling an 800-number from a late-night TV commercial, but I scored the other dozen or so discs from music stores and/or work. You have to go all the way back to "Now That's What I Call Music Volume #3" to find "The Hardest Thing" from the Nick Lachey-fronted boy band 98 Degrees.
