Sophie B. Hawkins "Walking in My Blue Jeans"

I found an old aircheck from my days at "Today's Soft Rock" Windy 100 in Chicago.  Since it was recorded on a cassette tape, I managed to find a (working) cassette player to play said tape.  While I don't remember the song "Walking in My Blue Jeans", the Sophie B. Hawkins tune aired during an overnight shift on Windy 100 during the Spring of 2001.  The song peaked at #23 on the AC Chart in 2001.

Sophie B. Hawkins - "Damn I Wish I Was Your Lover"

How many popular songs have a swear word in the title?  I can only think of a couple including "Damn I Wish I Was Your Lover" from Sophie B. Hawkins, her debut single from 1992.  Sure the title contained the not-so-bad word damn, but the video was even juicier prompting MTV to ban it.  Of course, there was also that lyric from the song: "I give you something sweet everything you come inside my jungle book...".  Damn.

Sophie B. Hawkins - "As I Lay Me Down"

Sometimes the most memorable part of a song has nothing to do with its title.  Case in point: "As I Lay Me Down" by Sophie B. Hawkins (not to be confused with Sophie C. Hawkins).  The 1995 ballad featured the background vocals "ooh la kah koh" that were repeated throughout the song.  Some friends of mine thought she was actually saying: "bring me a taco", but they also thought "Tiny Dancer" featured the lyrics "hold me closer Tony Danza".
