After Bad English flamed out, John Waite went back to his solo career. Waite's solo effort Temple Bar produced the minor Adult Contemporary hit "How Do I Get By Without You?" in 1995.

Tina Turner "Missing You"

John Waite and Tina Turner share the song "Missing You". Waite took the song to #1 in 1984 while Turner turned it into a a minor hit on the Hot 100 (#16 on the Adult Contemporary Chart). The two actually have a bit of history as Waite's version of "Missing You" knocked Turner's "What's Love Got to Do With It?" out of the #1 spot in 1984.

When a guy says that he "ain't missing you", he's definitely missing you.  Waite's 1984 love letter was repackaged in 2007 as a country duet with Alison Krauss.  

Bad English - "When I See You Smile"

John Waite's "Missing You" proved to be his breakthrough song during the mid-80s.  Waite later scored a #1 hit with the power ballad "When I See You Smile"--this time with the group Bad English.
