Steve Winwood "One and Only Man"

Steve Winwood reunited with his former buddy from Traffic, Jim Capaldi, for "One and Only Man" in 1990. Winwood sang and jammed on the keys of his Hammond organ while Capaldi played drums on the uptempo deep cut that the duo co-wrote.

Annie Lennox "A Whiter Shade of Pale"

Annie Lennox's 1995 version of "A Whiter Shade of Pale" replaced the signature sound of the Hammond Organ made famous in the original version by Procol Harum. While Procol Harum gave the song a somber mood, Lennox's used a whispy-sounding synthesizer beat that, when matched with Lennox's vocals, gave the tune more of a fairy tale feel.

Steve Winwood - "Holding On"

Steve Winwood loves his Hammond organ.  It's almost as prominent as Winwood himself in his 1988 Roll With It album.  "Holding On" was Winwood's last #1 hit on the Adult Contemporary Chart.

Steve Winwood - "Roll With It"

Steve Winwood songs can sometimes drag on like mass on Christmas Eve.  "Roll With It" clocks in at just over five and a half minutes and could easily be shortened to about three and a half.  Then again, how often do you get to hear lots of brass coupled with a Hammond organ and a catchy hook?  I say turn up the damn Winwood and quit your complaining.
