Phil Collins, Elton John, and Gloria Estefan dominated Adult Contemporary radio back in the 1980s and '90s, yet have disappeared from modern radio. Seemingly, the only time you ever hear them is at the grocery store or your local CVS. This blog remembers the music, the stories and the quirky characters from my days working in Adult Contemporary radio.

Corey Hart - "Never Surrender"
When a decade produces such hits as "I Wear My Sunglasses At Night", there's a reason 80's music never gained the respect it deserved. For every "Sunglasses At Night" record, there was usually a redeeming follow up song. In 1985, Cory Hart's "Never Surrender" was a hit power ballad one year after the "Sunglasses At Night" craze. It's easy to pass off novelty tunes like "Sunglasses At Night" but "Never Surrender" will live on.
