Phil Collins, Elton John, and Gloria Estefan dominated Adult Contemporary radio back in the 1980s and '90s, yet have disappeared from modern radio. Seemingly, the only time you ever hear them is at the grocery store or your local CVS. This blog remembers the music, the stories and the quirky characters from my days working in Adult Contemporary radio.

Level 42 - "Something About You"
80s music is loaded with catchy hooks.
- She blinded me with science. Science!
- Are you feeling hot hot hot?
- Don't worry, be happy.
The problem was that these songs now sounded dated. That's not the case with Level 42's "Something About You". Here's a catchy tune that sounds like it could be from 2015...much less 1985. In fact, the Cary Brothers covered the song in 2011 using their formulaic stripped-down acoustic sound. The result is almost as good as the original.
