Alanis Morissette - "Thank U"

After the huge success of Jagged Little Pill, the world anxiously waited for Alanis Morissette to release a new album.  The wait ended in 1998 when Alanis released Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie.  Those expecting another album filled with anger and grit were severely disappointed.  "Thank U", the album's first single, was a mid-tempo song that no one could quite figure out ("Thank you India..." huh?).  In fact, the video was more memorable than "Thank U" but only because it featured a naked Alanis in various public locations).  If anything, Alanis was well ahead of her time in coming up with an expression found in text messages all over the world: "thank u".
