Phil Collins, Elton John, and Gloria Estefan dominated Adult Contemporary radio back in the 1980s and '90s, yet have disappeared from modern radio. Seemingly, the only time you ever hear them is at the grocery store or your local CVS. This blog remembers the music, the stories and the quirky characters from my days working in Adult Contemporary radio.

Shania Twain - "I'm Gonna Getcha Good!"
"Hello?"
"Is this Shania?"
"Yes?"
"Hi Shania, this is your record company. Listen, we're gonna need you to come up with another pop-country song for your new album."
"But I already gave you a whole bunch of pop-country songs in my last album."
"Right right right, but let's crank out another, okey dokey?"
"Well, I suppose.""
We did a focus group and they really liked 'That Don't Impress Me Much', so we're thinking of doing a version 2.0 of that song."
"What does version 2.0 mean?"
"We really don't know, but please try to use the word 'getcha' in the title."
