Looking Glass "Brandy (You're a Fine Girl)"

The success of "Brandy" from Looking Glass caused Barry Manilow to change the name of his signature tune "Mandy". Originally titled "Brandy", Manilow decided to change it to "Mandy" because of the Looking Glass tune. But wait -- there's more! The song also gets credited for the abundance of American girls named "Brandy". The list of popular girl's names featured "Brandy" at #82 in 1973 (up from #353 just two years prior).
