DJ Sammy & Yanou f/ Do "Heaven"

Two DJ's remixed Bryan Adam's ballad "Heaven" and turned it into a dance hit. The song was later remixed to a "Candlelight Version" by a California radio station to commemorate the one year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

Jewel - "Who Will Save Your Soul?"

Jewel found inspiration for her first hit, "Who Will Save Your Soul", after watching people on a train trip from Michigan to California and then as she hitchhiked into Tijuana.  She said it seemed like everyone she met was looking for somebody to save them.  

Vanessa Williams - "Where Do We Go From Here"

Arnold Schwarzenegger: body builder, Governor of California, and star of movies such as The Terminator, Kindergarten Cop, and Eraser.  Despite co-starring in Eraser with Arnold, Vanessa Williams' ballad "Where Do We Go From Here" was excluded from the soundtrack even though it featured prominently in the film.

Buckcherry - "Sorry"

I still cannot hear Buckcherry's melodramatic ballad "Sorry" without also hearing the voice of Marty Moose from "National Lampoon's Vacation".  After driving his family in a metallic pea green station wagon from Chicago to California, Clark Griswold finally makes it to Wally World where he's met by the park's mascot with a note saying to push the button.  One push of the button was all it took to crush Clark's dreams as the moose said, "Sorry folks, the park's closed for two weeks to clean and repair America's favorite family fun park.  Sorry. Uh-hu-uh-hu-uh-hu."
