Paul Carrack - "Don't Shed A Tear"

Much like Jude Cole, Paul Carrack's extensive resume would shame most established musicians.  Credited for his work in Ace, Squeeze, Mike + The Mechanics, and Roger Waters, Paul Carrack has quietly kicked some major ass in the music business.  His biggest solo tune was 1987's "Don't Shed A Tear" which is one of those songs that would probably stump even the most avid music lover during an "Audio Daily Double" on Jeopardy.

Mike + The Mechanics - "Silent Running"

Mike + The Mechanics consisted of former Genesis alum Mike Rutherford along with Paul Carrack on vocals.  As we learned from an earlier post, Paul found fame singing with numerous '70s & '80s outfits including Ace, Soft Cell, Roxy Music, as well as Mike + The Mechanics.  "Silent Running" was Mike + The Mechanics first big hit in 1985.  The song used to creep me out then and it still does so today.

Ace - "How Long"

Whenever infomercials for Time-Life's "Sounds of the 70s" CD collection would air, you were sure to hear Ace and their one hit "How Long."  While you may not know much about the group Ace, you definitely know the voice of Paul Carrack who had a couple minor solo hits aside from being the lead singer of Squeeze.
