Shanice "Saving Forever for You"

How do you envision the third re-boot of Beverly Hills, 90210? It's said to feature the majority of the original cast in an unconventional take on a re-boot. Guess we'll just have to speculate and wonder whether the Peach Pit has a gluten-free menu. The original show helped introduce artists and music to the show's fans -- so much so that the show released Beverly Hills, 90210 The Album which included hits like "Love Is" from Vanessa Williams & Brian McKnight and "Saving Forever for You" from Shanice.

Brian McKnight "One Last Cry"

Not only can Brian McKnight make your knees weak with his chocolaty smooth voice, but his musicial skills extend beyond his voice. McKnight can play eight instruments including the piano, guitar and trombone. This man oozes talent. His ballad "One Last Cry" charted in 1993 on multiple radio formats including Adult Contemporary (peaking at #16).

Brian McKnight - "Anytime"

One of 1998's most played songs on the radio wasn't even released as a single.  That song was "Anytime" from Brian McKnight".  Because it was never officially released as a single, the song was ineligible to chart.  Whoops.

Brian McKnight - "Back At One"

When John Legend burst onto the scene in the mid-2000s, a woman I worked with named Phyllis told me that she thought he had the worst voice she'd ever heard.  Never shy of sharing her opinion, Phyllis also accused him of moaning and not actually singing.  I immediately took to John Legend and his voice despite his sometimes moaning-slash-singing.  I'll compare Phyllis' take on John Legend with Brian McKnight's "Back At One".  This song dominated all radio charts at the end of 1999, yet I cringed every time I heard it.

Vanessa Williams & Brian McKnight - "Love Is"

Beverly Hills 90210 helped launch the music careers of several artists...Brian McKnight is one of them.  His duet with Vanessa Williams in "Love Is" was featured on the teen series in 1992 and immediately hit #1 on the AC chart.  Once you hear the song, you can't help but regret your decision to stop taking piano lessons.
