During one of his world tours, Phil Collins admitted to spending his days shopping for...model trains. Yes, miniature trains. In his autobiography Not Dead Yet, he writes:

"So how do I alchemize my four-nights-at-Wembley golden-god status? Not with champagne, cocaine, supermodels, and speedboats. During the Invisible Touch tour I've been visiting local model railway shops the world over, shipping fun-sized rolling stock back to the U.K. There I intend to fill the basement...with a...layout that will have Rod "the Mod" Stewart sobbing with HO-gauge envy."

Rick Astley "Together Forever"

Imagine retiring at the ripe age of 27. That's exactly what Rick Astley did in 1994. The eternally baby-faced Astley was just 19 years old when his first hit, "Never Gonna Give You Up", topped the charts in 1987. Over the next five years, he charted eight Top 10 hits in the UK with five in the United States, and he needed a break. Astley stepped out of the public eye, raised his daughter and lived a relatively "normal" life for the first time. He later released a couple of albums in the 2000s and then there was the whole Rick-rolling thing, but it was a chance encounter with Dave Grohl that re-introduced him to the world in 2017. The two met briefly at a music festival in Japan before Grohl brought Astley on stage and launched into a version of "Never Gonna Give You Up" in the style of "Smells Like Teen Spirit". The crowd went nuts and now the 52 year-old Astley is hitting the road again for his first world tour since the 1990s. He's playing Chicago's House of Blues on April 26th.

Kenny Rogers with Kim Carnes & James Ingram "What About Me?"

The year 2017 saw Kenny Rogers wave goodbye to touring with the conclusion of his world farewell tour. Rogers remarkable career spans nearly 60 years...beginning with "That Crazy Feeling" in 1957. By the 1970s, Rogers etched his name in the history books as his music dominated the Country Music, Hot 100, and Adult Contemporary Charts. The list of artists connected to his 1984 hit "What About Me?" also spans multiple formats, genres and generations. Rogers originally enlisted Barbara Streisand and Lionel Richie to be part of the song, but both dropped out. Then came Jeffrey Osborne and Olivia Newton-John, who both had scheduling conflicts. Rogers settled on Kim Carnes and James Ingram, and the trio turned the ballad into Rogers final #1 hit on the Adult Contemporary Chart.
