Basia "Cruising for Bruising"

Credit "Cruising for Bruising" as the most commercially-successful song from Polish pop singer Basia. Unfortunately for Basia, the song happens to be quite personal. The ballad details the demise of her relationship with keyboardist/producer Danny White. While filming the video for the song, Basia cried so much that she required multiple touch-ups from her makeup person.

The number of remakes of Aretha Franklin's "Until You Come Back to Me" could fill an entire month's worth of blog entries.  Leo Sayer, Cyndi Lauper, Bobby Caldwell, and Richard Elliot are just some of the artists who took Aretha's signature tune out for a drive.  In 1990, Basia found success on the Adult Contemporary Chart with her take on the tune.

When you sit back and think about your favorite Polish jazz/pop singer, you undoubtedly think of Basia.  Her Time and Tide album produced the Adult Contemporary hit of the same name in 1987.
