Hootie & the Blowfish "I Go Blind"

Some popular '90s phenomenons that I somehow avoided:

  • AOL Chat Rooms
  • Overalls and flannel shirts
  • Melrose Place, Seinfeld & Friends
  • Hootie & the Blowfish, Nirvana & the Grunge movement
I hopped on the Seinfeld wagon in the 2000s but never really embraced anything else on this list especially Friends. Someone once described the show as a bunch of wimpy dudes who managed to date hot girls in an over-sized New York apartment. No arguments here.

John Mellencamp - "Just Another Day"

A DJ rarely gets 27 seconds to talk over a song these days, but things were different twenty years ago.  John Mellencamp's "Just Another Day" afforded radio DJ's ample opportunities to talk about Melrose Place, Bill Clinton, or whatever else was topical back in 1996 and 27 seconds is a long time by today's standards.

Jack Wagner - "All I Need"
