Robert Palmer "Addicted to Love"

If you want to kill 90 minutes of your life, stream the '80s flick Cocktail on Netflix. Watching Tom Cruise and Bryan Brown juggling liquor bottles much to the delight of the ladies (and their large hair-sprayed '80s hair) was embarrassing enough, but now Netflix keeps suggesting equally bad movies because I watched Cocktail. I almost felt sorry for Cruise for having to dance and mouth the words of "Addicted to Love" while making martinis in the movie. The song, by the way, wasn't included on the movie's soundtrack. 

Robert Palmer - "Every Kinda People"

The catchy feel-good tune "Every Kinda People" first introduced the world to Robert Palmer in 1978.  Heck, given the current political climate, the tune could very well be a campaign song for the next Democratic presidential nominee.  Palmer later remixed the song again in 1992 propelling the song to #8 on the Adult Contemporary Chart.

Robert Palmer - "Mercy Mercy Me (The Ecology)"

You know how Adult Contemporary radio loves remakes, right?  Enter Robert Palmer.  He reworked Marvin Gaye's "Mercy Mercy Me" into a medley with "I Want You".  The result: a #4 hit on the Adult Contemporary Chart in 1991.

Robert Palmer - "I Didn't Mean to Turn You On"

With a sound that definitely sounds like the 1980s, Robert Palmer put his mark on "I Didn't Mean to Turn You On" in 1986, a dance song Cherrelle turned into a hit just two years earlier.  Palmer took the song to #2...which is quite the turn-on.
