The Eagles "Get Over It"

Taking personal responsibility is not something most folks do. This theme resonated with Don Henley who (along with Glenn Frey) turned their rage into "Get Over It" -- a song that became The Eagles' first hit in nearly 15 years. "Get Over It" put the rock band back on the radio (and well as the road) again in support of their Hell Freezes Over tour.

Commonly thought of as a Classic Rock artist, Bob Seger did make one appearance on the Country Chart -- it happened thanks to his soft rock ballad "Shame on the Moon".  Glenn Frey sang backup on the tune that sat atop the Adult Contemporary Chart for two weeks in 1983.

Boz Scaggs - "Look What You've Done to Me"

Talk about a song with a superstar cast: Boz Scaggs' "Look What You've Done to Me" features Glenn Frey, Don Henley, and Timothy B. Schmit of The Eagles on backup vocals, Eagles' guitarist Don Felder plays guitar, while super-producer David Foster and members of Toto are credited on the keyboards.  This song found its way onto the Urban Cowboy Soundtrack, yet all by itself is a Time-Life Music Collection.

Tina Turner - "Better Be Good to Me"

Friday nights on NBC not only contained the hip cop show Miami Vice, but also played host to an amazing soundtrack of songs.  One episode of Miami Vice featured Tina Turner's "Better Be Good to Me".  The song would later be included in the show's first soundtrack which also featured music from Glenn Frey, Jan Hammer, Chaka Khan, and Phil Collins among others.

Glenn Frey - "The One You Love"

Since 1982, we're still not sure if she stayed with the one who loves her or went back to the one she loves.  The only thing Glenn Frey got right when he released "The One You Love" was the saxophone hook.  Without it, the song is a long, dreary ride to Nowhere Town.

Glenn Frey - "You Belong to the City"

If you don't know what every 1980s hit required, then you must be new to Growing Up Adult Contemporary.  (And, if that's the case, welcome!)  Every good 1980's hit must include the saxophone.  You could say that a good sax solo in 1985 is the modern-day equivalent to Pitbull dropping his own name in his songs ("Mr. Worldwide!").  Glenn Frey's "You Belong to the City" arguably has the second-best sax solo in all of music (with Gerry Rafferty's "Baker Street" being the best).  "You Belong to the City" appeared on the Miami Vice Soundtrack and quickly made it the best-selling TV soundtrack, and with good reason...just listen to that saxophone and try not to shit yourself.
