Cher "We All Sleep Alone"

"It wouldn't be easy to be Mr. Cher," Cher once said and that's an understatement. Her list of boyfriends can fill an entire notebook with the likes of Tom Cruise, Val Kilmer, Warren Beatty, and Gene Simmons filling each respective chapter. Cher claims she could've dated Elvis, but chickened out. Ironically, Cher released "We All Sleep Alone" in 1988 -- a song she penned with Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora. A couple years later, Cher and Sambora hooked up and dated for a couple years.

Paul Schneider "It's Now or Never"

Every family wedding reception features my drunken Uncle Mike grabbing the microphone from the DJ and belting out a rousing rendition of "It's Now or Never". Even with booze, Uncle Mike's version of the classic Elvis Presley tune pales in comparison to the original. Heck, it's not even comparable to the Paul Schneider version. Released in 1981, Schneider (of The Dukes of Hazzard fame) hit the Top 5 on the Adult Contemporary Chart.

Elvis Presley "A Little Less Conversation (JXL Remix)"

When celebrities make appearances on radio station morning shows, everyone from Donna in accounting to quirky Fred in sales shows up early for work in order to catch a glimpse and (hopefully) snap a selfie. Celebs such as Katy Perry, Kevin Costner, Kerry Wood, Patrick Sharpe, and Robin Thicke are favorites among the office staff and then, of course, there are other big names who made the rounds and left an interesting impression. For example, when Lisa Marie Presley stopped by the radio station where I worked in 2003, her handlers had a strict policy that she wouldn't pose for pictures or answer questions about Elvis. Oh, there was one other demand: no one except for the two hosts were allowed to make eye contact with Lisa Marie. That's right, a memo went out to the staff requesting that no one be near the on-air studios unless they absolutely had to be and that no one should directly look at Miss Presley.

Sharon Stone's thriller Sliver helped boost UB40's remake of Elvis Presley's "(I Can't Help) Falling in Love With You" to the #1 spot in 1993.  The movie's soundtrack featured UB40's reggae-version of Elvis' 1986 hit.

Madonna - "Hung Up"

"Hung Up" helped pull Madonna into a tie with Elvis Presley for the most Top 10 singles in history.  The disco-tinged dance tune was Madonna's 36th Top 10 single and reminded the world that she was still relevant.
