Surface - "The First Time"

Before R&B supergroup Boyz II Men would take radio by storm, early-90s R&B performers such as Timmy T., Stevie B., and Surface enjoyed mild success.  "The First Time" spent two weeks atop the Adult Contemporary Chart in 1991.

Timmy T - "One More Try"

Please do not confuse Stevie B. with Timmy T.  Back in 1990, Stevie B. gave us "The Postman Song" while Timmy T. delivered "One More Try".  Unrelated: Elvis gave us "Return to Sender".

Atlantic Star - "Masterpiece"

R&B/pop ballads were fairly interchangeable in the early-90s.  For every Stevie B., there was a Timmy T.  For every Shai, there was an Atlantic Star: catchy late-night radio dedication songs with melodies sung by forgettable artists.

Stevie B. - "Because I Love You (The Postman Song)"

With the United States Postal System losing billions every year, the fine folks in blue could certainly use another hit from Stevie B.  His "Because I Love You (The Postman Song) spent two weeks atop the AC Chart in 1990 and encouraged folks to write letters to their loved ones.  So could you do the Post Office a giant favor and write a few more letters?  It cost 25 cents to mail a first-class letter in 1990.  Today, it'll cost you 49 cents and lots of patience.
