Erasure "Chains of Love"

We all fell for the scam CD club from Columbia House or BMG in the 90s where you got 12 CDs for the low low price of one penny (plus $3 trillion for shipping & handling).  Other than the exorbitant shipping fees, it sometimes was difficult to choose 12 CDs because their selection was limited and somewhat dated.  I feel like many of us purchased Pop! The First 20 Hits from Erasure because we couldn't think of a twelfth CD.  The group's synth-pop "Chains of Love" was a hit in 1988.

Steve Perry - "Foolish Heart"

My mom belonged to a Cassette Tape club in the mid-1980s where you would get 12 cassette tapes for a penny (but get nailed with a shipping & handling fee of $700) and then every month you'd get another cassette until you fulfilled your contract.  One such cassette was the album Street Talk from Steve Perry.  It was Perry's first solo effort and much like Peter Cetera, Phil Collins, and others who stepped away from their respective rock bands to launch a solo album, it showed Perry's softer side.  One of the two notable songs from the album was "Foolish Heart" which peaked at #2 on the Adult Contemporary Chart.
