I remember when "All Star" from Smash Mouth came out in 1999, my colleague wondered aloud why Major League Baseball didn't buy the rights to the song to promote the 1999 MLB All Star Game. He's right, you know.

Sugar Ray - "Every Morning"

Oh, how the ladies loved Mark McGrath in the '90s.  Following the success of Sugar Ray, McGrath leveraged his fame into several television jobs including host of Don't Forget The Lyrics and Extra.  In the 2000's, Sugar Ray resumed touring with other '90s bands such as Everclear, Gin Blossums, and Smash Mouth.

Sister Hazel - "Change Your Mind"

Street festival season is upon us which means that forgotten 1990s bands such as Gin Blossoms, Smash Mouth, and Sister Hazel will soon be headlining neighborhood fests.  I know that all three of the above groups have played at least one Chicago street fest since 2012 because I've seen them there. #notashamed

Smash Mouth - "Walkin' on the Sun"

Before downloading MP3s through iTunes, you would drive over to your local record store and purchase CDs.  In case you just wanted to buy one song instead of the full album, you'd buy a single.  Despite its name, singles contained more than one song.  Much like records, singles had a B-side.  In the case of Smash Mouth's "Walkin' on the Sun", the B-side was a song called "Sorry About Your Penis".
