Luther Vandross & Mariah Carey "Endless Love"

Thirteen years after Lionel Richie and Diana Ross teamed up for the wildly popular ballad "Endless Love", Luther Vandross and Mariah Carey did the same. The love song came from Vandross' Songs album which contained covers of vintage R&B tunes.

Diana Ross - "Missing You"

One listen to "Missing You" from Diana Ross would lead you to think the song is about a relationship that went wrong, yet the somber ballad was actually about a much different topic.  "Missing You" was a somber homage from Diana Ross to her friend Marvin Gaye who was killed by his father earlier in 1984.  The song was Diana's last major hit and is part of the ever-growing list of tributes to fallen musicians.

Sweet Sensation - "Love Child"

Twenty-two years after Diana Ross & The Supremes released "Love Child", the group Sweet Sensation re-recorded the song.  With more electronic instruments and guitar than the original, the song epitomizes the sound of the era (1990).
